Position Purpose:
To co-ordinate and administer the Recruitment and Training functions to meet the capacity building requirements of Transnet
National Ports Authority – Nelson Mandela Bay Ports. This position will therefore ensure timely, efficient and effective
provision of an excellent service to business needs with respect to capacity building.
Position outputs:
• Consolidation of training needs and scheduling of courses to ensure that Departments operate with maximum efficiency and
meet established objects
• Fully utilise training management systems i..e LSO, Bursary Management system etc
• Perform administration of bursaries to ensure compliance with Transnet bursary policy
• Ensure training records are kept up to date
• Coordinate trainee programmes i.e Apprentices, YPT’s, EIT’s, TIT’s etc
• Co-ordinate competency profiles, skills audit and IDP’s for all grades to ensure that employees are capable of meeting job

accountabilities
• Perform responsibilities of a skills development facilitator
• Compile training stats i.e monthly training reports, BBBEE reports, NSDS reports etc.
• Compilation of Workplace skills plan and Annual training report and ensure it is captured accurately on the system
• Coordinate signing of WSP and ATR and submit to Head Office
• Liaise with employees and managers w.r.t. training and recruitment matters
• Source service providers for the implementation for the WSP
• Ensure procurement processes are adhered to when sourcing service providers
• Inform BUM’s of planned training for employees so they can be released to attend training
• Book training venues for in-house training programmes
• Ensure attendance registers and training certificates are sent by service providers upon completing of training
• Ensure certificates are distributed to the employees who attended training upon receipt from the service provider
• Advertise positions in consultation with BUM’s
• Represent HR in the recruitment and selection panels
• Provide guidance to the Recruitment and Selection panel to ensure relevant policies are adhered to
• Prepare documentation for shortlisting and interview process
• Arrange venues for shortlisting and interviews
• Arrange interviews – invite panel members and candidates to interviews
• Prepare interview score sheet upon completion of interviews and send to panel members for sign off
• Conduct background checks on interviewed candidates i.e criminal checks, medical assessments, qualification verifications,
reference checks etc
• Prepare and send appointment packs for approval to Head Office
• Inform successful candidates upon approval of job offers
• Send out communication to unsuccessful candidates informing them of the outcome of the interviews
• Close positions on e-recruitment upon acceptance of offer by candidate/s
• Inform BUM’s upon acceptance of offer by candidate/s
• Provide HR Admin with candidate documentation upon acceptance of offer by candidate
• Organise induction for new employees in partnership with Corporate Affairs and BUM’s/Line Managers
• Keep up to date with relevant legislation, policies and procedures
Qualifications & Experience:
•a 3 year qualification in Human Resources or related field
•Skills Development Facilitator qualification (SDF) from an accredited institution
•Valid Drivers licence
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years relevant work experience
