Assistant Director- Case Management Directorate Labour Relations Services Package R 376 596.00 (plus benefits). Requirements National Diploma (NQF 6) / Degree (NQF 7) in Labour Relations/ Industrial Relations/ Industrial Psychology / Human Resources Management as recognised by SAQA. A minimum of 3 Years’ experience in Labour Relations environment, of which 2 years should be at supervisory level. A valid driver’s Licence. COMPETENCIES: Knowledge of Labour Relations Act, Public Service Act and Regulations, Basic Conditions of Employment Ac, Promotion of Administrative Justice Act, Employment Equity Act, Skills Development Acts, Public Finance Management Act, Standards, practices, processes and procedures related to labour relations, Collective Agreements, Collective bargaining structures and processes SKILLS: Negotiation, Change, interpretation of policies, influencing, Strategic capability and leadership, conflict management, problem solving , motivation, ability to undertake basic research/ gathering information, people management, presentation and facilitation skills, interpersonal relations, verbal and written communication, reporting writing, organising and planning, problem solving skills and computer literacy skills. ATTRIBUTES: Creative, Resourceful, Ability to communicate at all levels, Innovative, Ability to work under stressful situations, People orientated, Assertive, Willing to adapt work schedule in accordance with office requirements. Duties Conduct investigations on misconduct cases, represent the employer during the disciplinary hearings, preside over disciplinary cases, manage, co-ordinate and monitor the implementation of Labour Relations policies and procedures. Monitor database of all cases in the Department. Investigate grievances and facilitate grievance meetings/hearings. Ensure the promotion of sound labour peace, including effective management of disputes. Provide advisory services to management. establish consultative structures in all the Departmental Districts. Participate and monitor regional consultative structures. Conduct research on trends and patterns of grievances and misconduct cases and advice management on pro-active measures and/or required interventions. Monitor the implementation of collective agreements and resolutions. Conduct labour relations training and capacity building to line managers and staff. Facilitate LR and District Managements meetings. Intervene and resolve conflict and advise appropriately. Liaise with HR on LR issues. Ensure that all finalized misconduct cases finalised within the timeframe and are captured on PERSAL.
