PUBLIC PARTICIPATION OFFICER

Remuneration: R180 000.00 P. A Plus Normal Municipal Benefits

Minimum Requirements:

  • Senior Certificate/Grade 12
  • National Diploma in Public Administration/Public Relations or any other relevant qualification.
  • Computer Literacy
  • Minimum of 2- 3 years relevant experience
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good report writing
  • In-depth knowledge of community structures

Key Performance Areas

The successful candidate will be performing the following duties:

  • Developing and assisting Municipalities in institutionalizing Municipal Public participation and communication programs to improve Public participation in Municipal affairs
  • Coordinating capacity building interventions in the Municipality
  • Facilitating and coordinating strategies towards Communities participating and Good Governance Practices
  • Ensuring the development and adoption of reliable and creditable Integrated Development Plans
  • Building the capacity of Municipal elected bodies
  • Designing the mechanism and provide support to Municipalities in conducting public consultations and hearings
  • Designing, initiating, and institutionalizing customer satisfaction surveys to ensure citizen feedback and to improve service delivery
  • Facilitating knowledge building and information/experience sharing
  • Developing Municipal Public participation and communication programs and strategies
  • Developing and introducing a mechanism and identifying key factors for the implementation of Municipal Public participation and communication
  • Introducing and supporting Municipalities in the use of various communication techniques
  • Monitor and evaluate the environmental social and economic impact on service delivery.
