Qualifications
- Matric
- Minimum LLB or equivalent Legal Qualification
- Admitted attorney.
- 3-4 years post admission experience
Experience
- At least 3 years post admission experience in claims litigation, Short-term insurance and contract drafting.
- Knowledge of and the ability to interpret the Short-Term insurance Act, Insurance Act, Financial Sector Regulations Act, PFMA, Treasury Regulations and FAIS etc.
- Knowledge and experience of Companies Act.
- Sound knowledge of claims principles as well as claims management.
- Knowledge of short-term insurance products (advantageous).
Duties and responsibilities Â
General Legal Advice
- Provide and/or facilitate delivery of legal advice, guidance, and support to enable the business to achieve its business imperatives.
- Draft legal opinions, memoranda, and other related legal documents.
- Identifying, advising on, and evaluating legal risk.
- Supporting and enabling the business to develop policies and procedures to effectively manage the legal risks identified.
- Providing pro-active support and innovation in the structuring of all internal and external partnerships to ensure compliance with legislation.
- Reviewing and signing off policy wordings and other related documents as requested by the business.
- Managing litigation processes by briefing and appointing attorneys in litigation matters and facilitating the defending or settling of litigation matters.
- Researching and analysing the implications of case law, legislation, and regulatory matters.
- Managing outsourcing legal services in terms of engagement with external Attorneys and managing legal costs by being proactive in assessing legal matters.
- Manage the delivery of litigation support to the business and manage legal costs by being proactive in legal matters.
- Draft and conclude SLAs with external Attorney’s that are on Sasria’s panel to ensure that sound, accurate and cost-effective legal advice is received.
- Research and remain up to date with all legislative developments and advise business on aligning changes to business imperatives.
- Provide detailed Monthly Progress reports as requested.
- Manage an effective diary system.
- Negotiate settlement of claims with all relevant stakeholders/Agent companies.
- Maintain a schedule of all claims that have been escalated to Legal by updating the status of such claims.
- Review and provide advice on new products and services.
- Undertake other duties, special projects as requested.
Legal research and Training
- Research issues relating to the short-term insurance industry and legislations that might impact Sasria especially before the legislation is Gazetted.
- Providing all stakeholders with regular information regarding new legislation (including new Bills, Acts, Regulations, Standards, Directives and Case Law) through training, creating awareness, drafting practice notes, and updating the business on upcoming changes to existing legislation.
- Interpreting all new legislation and regulation and preparing high level impact analyses.
- Advise the company on the impact of noncompliance with Laws and Regulations.
Contract /SLA Management
- Ensure that contractual documentation and other legal documents are drafted, standardised, reviewed, interpreted, and vetted in line with the Contract Management process and Legal Procedure.
- Represent the business interests by interfacing with and negotiating contracts and agreements with third parties.
- Maintain and update a central repository where all contracts are stored/filed.
- Ensuring all standard contract terms are included in all contracts.
- Compliance with the legal Framework as it relates to contracts and other related matters.
- Maintain a register and schedule of all contractual matters.
- Contract register to be reviewed and signed off by Senior Governance Manager and Executive Manager.
Development of policies and procedures
- Assist in developing drafting and advising on legal frameworks, practices, policies, and procedures.
- Provide assistance of a legal nature to internal committees and forums.
- Provide assistance in respect of internal compliance matters.
Ad hoc duties
- Perform any reasonable tasks as and whenrequired by the Line Manager.

Qualifications

Experience
- Over 5 years of SharePoint administration experience.
- Programming experience (added advantage)
- Experience managing and administration of enterprise-level O365 SharePoint 2013.
- Experience in SharePoint online (added advantage).
- Experience troubleshooting issues and providing customer support for service requests related to O365 SharePoint Online and on-premises environments.
- Working knowledge of current messaging and collaboration systems software, protocols, and standards.
- Experience in configuring, administering, and monitoring Exchange Active Sync services.
- Ability to solve complex SharePoint issues
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES):
Operational
- Responsible for managing SharePoint sites and accounts, including configuration, custom features deployment.
- Manage Sasria’s SharePoint environment and enhancement as per business requirements by adhering to the development process (SDLC) and Change Management process (ITIL).
- Responsible for understanding business and the requirements that drive the analysis and design of technical solutions.
- Management and maintenance of site content, structure settings, site hierarchy, and site collection navigation.
- Utilisation of Sharegate tool /relevant tool for migrations of SharePoint sites and collections to the O365 SharePoint Online Environment.
- Update documentation, check validity and accuracy on all documentation used by the end users, site owners and Administrators.
- Provide 1st and 2nd line support for SharePoint and liaising with the Service provider where necessary.
- Troubleshoot issues/incidents and provide user support.
- Analyse SharePoint application problems, recommend solutions and technologies to meet business security and information security objectives.
- Analyse and recommend SharePoint enhancement, updates, and upgrades.
- Administer and configure SharePoint and share knowledge with IT team.
- Ensuring security and critical applications patches are maintained by liaising with the service provider.
Reporting
- Produce necessary reports based on requests.
- Input into management reports as and when required.
Processes and continuous improvement
- Ensure that SharePoint standard operating procedure is maintained on regular basis.
- Determines and implements security standards for the SharePoint platform.
- Designs and builds high availability solutions to ensure platform resiliency.
- Designs and implements a comprehensive structure that logically organises related components into a hierarchical structure across the SharePoint platform.
- Provides subject matter knowledge to IT resources and business stakeholders in leveraging, conceptualising, developing, and implementing SharePoint solutions to address business needs.
- Collaborates with IT resources to integrate SharePoint modules with other systems.
- Creates and maintains technical documentations such as the SharePoint platform.
- Maintaining and updating SharePoint application.Â
Adhoc Tasks
- Recommend best practices to achieve business objectives, advises on risk assumptions for any variances granted, and provides alternatives to achieve desired end results.
- Maintains SharePoint documentation and configuration data for regulatory and audit purposes.
- Perform any reasonable tasks as and when required by the Line Manager and Functional Manager.
- Share knowledge with internal and external stakeholders for support purposes.
- Participate in projects integrating with SharePoint and provide input where required.
