JOB REQUIREMENTS
- To support Senior Horticulturist in ensuring the effective development of and maintenance of parks, open spaces, street trees, cemeteries and crematoria, and nursery facilities within the designated are, by assisting with the implementations, and monitoring of the service delivery in line with maintenance schedules and special projects plans by assisting with the implementation and maintenance of SHEQ standards in day to day operations, by supporting the Senior Horticulturist with administrative and report writing functions to ensure the effective running of the depot and the achievement of regional development and maintenance target
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Grade 12
- Basic Knowledge of Landscaping/Horticulture 1 years’ experience in the supervisory level (Horticultural field)
- Valid SA driver’s license & PDP
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
- To assist the Senior Horticulturist in the implementation of operational plans, as well as with supervision of teams and drivers & conducts site inspections, including areas with service delivery issues
- In the absence of the Senior horticulturist, the incumbent manages the activities of the depot and attends meetings
- Assist with planning of daily operations, coordination and scheduling work for teams
- Assist in implementing and maintaining safety standards in the workplace
- Assist with administration and report writing & ensure correct issuing of fuel and consumables per team per day
- Delegate and dispatch vehicles and maintenance teams in respect of daily work schedules
- Assist with contractor management (photos, verification of work done, PIS, instruction sheets, etc. & allocate resources according to Job Cards
- Monitor and Control Supervisors, vehicles and teams in daily work production
- Monitor fuel usage, and KM travelled weekly & determine overtime requirements per month
- Review daily and weekly maintenance priorities in accordance with maintenance prioritise
- Dispatch vehicles and maintenance teams in respect of the daily work schedule
- Attend to customer queries & develop suitable productivity measures
- Check that Equipment is in good working order & assist with and co-ordinate safety training
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- Appropriate experience in the development of public relations campaigns and event management experience
