iKhokha is on the hunt for an extraordinary Creative Director to join our team. As the driving force behind our creative endeavors, you will lead a team of talented artists, designers, and content creators to provide the best content and branding for iKhokha.
So, what will you do?
- As a Creative Director you will play a critical role in pulling together a cohesive look and feel for multiple marketing campaigns, supervise the entire creative process, and guide the team that works under them within our inhouse Creative Studio.
In addition to the above, you will:
- Lead the creative team to produce innovative, visually appealing, and effective marketing campaigns.
- Develop and execute creative strategies across various media types that align with the company’s brand identity and goals.
- Manage budgets and timelines for creative projects while ensuring deadlines are met.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, external agencies, and cross-functional teams to ensure a cohesive brand image across all touchpoints.
- Oversee the creation of marketing materials, including digital and print advertising, event materials, and other branded content.
- Develop and maintain industry awareness, including trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.
- Provide direction and supervise the team of designers, copywriters, and other creatives to ensure they meet the expectations of clients and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated creativity and innovation
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
Deal breakers:
At least 5 to 7 years of relevant experience with the below:
- In a Creative Director role (agency or inhouse).
- Previous Fintech industry marketing experience (advantageous), with a proven track record in creating and delivering successful campaigns.
- Experience managing design and creative teams, including setting measurable, achievable targets.
- Strong understanding of branding, visual design, and marketing strategy across all mediums.
- Ability to lead, motivate and manage team members to produce optimal results.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Experience with online software tools like Asana, Trello, or Wrike preferred.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and project management skills.
Any relevant experience with the below would make you a front runner for the role:
- Financial Services/payments industry (Advantageous)
- SEO, Digital and performance marketing advantageous
Qualifications
- Completed Matric
The following would be advantageous:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, fine art, graphic design or a related field.

Job Description
Purpose of the Role:
The Data Engineers purpose is to enable data-driven decision-making by providing the necessary infrastructure and tools for collecting, organizing, and processing and storing large volumes of data. To work closely with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand their data requirements and implement solutions that support the organization’s data needs, must have a strong technical background and be passionate with working with data.
The deal breakers (Minimum Requirements):
- 3-5 years’ experience in a Data Engineering Role.
- Must have experience working directly with Data teams (Including BI analysts, Data Analysts, Data Scientists and Business Analysts) and have good exposure to various business functions.
- Excellent understanding of Database’s, ETL and SQL.
- Solid Experience working in cloud Platforms (Snowflake / Azure / AWS)
- Solid Experience in data modelling (Kimball), ETL, Data integration and API’s.
- Good Experience in developing in Python.
- Data Quality and Governance must be at the top of the agenda.
- Attention to detail and quality none negotiable.
- Knowledge of the Data Engineering landscape.
- Has worked previously in a data warehouse environment.
- Some Understanding and exposure to Data management principles (DMBOK)
- Knowledge of Agile Scrum development principles and methodologies.(Scrum | Kanban)
- Good Quality Assurance experience in testing Specifications and Data Integrity.
- Participation and active engagement in the defined internal processes.(SDLC)
Specific knowledge, Skills and Competencies:
- Previous industry experience in Financial services and / or Data Engineering | analytics environment would be an advantage.
- Good understanding of the data engineering and analytics landscape.
- Good understanding of how SLDC works in a Data driven environment.
- General Knowledge of the DMBOK framework would be advantageous.
Business understanding:
- A good understanding of how various functional areas within a business work: Sales | Marketing | Finance | HR | Logistics | Operations.
- A good understanding of how card transactions and the online payment industry works.
- A very good understanding of the Data and product management domain

Data Pipelines, Integration and Optimisation:
- Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines, ensuring efficient and reliable data processing, transformation, and storage.
- Integrate data from various sources, both internal and external, ensuring data quality and integrity.
- Optimize data infrastructure and pipelines for scalability, performance, and cost-effectiveness.
Data Requirements:
- Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand their data requirements and assist in the design and implementation of data models and structures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data requirements, develop data solutions, and support data-driven decision-making.
Industry Trends:
- Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies in data engineering, and recommend innovative solutions to enhance our data infrastructure and processes.
Data Governance:
- Document and maintain technical specifications, system configurations, and data flow diagrams.
- Implement and monitor data governance and security measures to ensure data privacy and compliance with relevant regulations.
Troubleshooting:
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data processing, pipeline performance, and data quality.
Qualifications
- BSc Computer Science / BCom / IT related Degree.

So, what will you do?
You will produce a wide range of creative assets, from designing concept pitches to producing highly polished final artwork.
You will work with Team Leads to create effective creative communication solutions that edify iKhokha as a brand and that help our merchants and potential merchants make decisions.
You must be capable of delivering brilliant creative ideas, show amazing attention to detail, and be well organized.
Deal Breakers
- National Diploma in Graphic Design/Visual Communications or equal to relevant tertiary education
- Minimum 4 years of proven experience as a graphic designer or related role
- Design for a broad range of projects including print communication, packaging, and digital and moving images.
- Creation of digital design and assets for use on our website and social media platforms.
- To maintain the high visual standard, match, set, and assist others in maintaining this standard.
- Creation of presentations and mock-ups to present ideas/executions for approval.
- To bring fresh ideas and approaches by combining cultural awareness with an enquiring mind.
- A great eye and in-depth understanding of graphic design principles.
- Any other duties as reasonably requested.
- Illustration skills are advantageous.
- Adobe Creative Suite (In Design, Illustrator and Photoshop essential).
- Additional digital skills (e.g. After Effects, Premiere Pro, XD etc) would be an asset but not essential.
- Knowledge of HTML & CSS would also be an asset but not essential.
- Hubspot knowledge advantageous.
