COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER


Salary: R376,654.00 – R443,122.00

Introduction: The Communications Officer is responsible for implementing and facilitating effective communication within ICASA, primarily targeting ICASA stakeholders. The Officer will create engaging content, manage channels, support change initiatives, and promote employee engagement to ensure that stakeholders are well-informed, aligned, and connected.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Integrated Communication Strategy – Implement Communications strategies in line with the approved Integrated Communications Strategy
  • Content Creation – Write, produce, coordinate and distribute effective communiqués to all relevant stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Engagement – Foster stakeholder engagement in line with the approved Integrated Communications Strategy; these include Town Hall, Council Corner, and internal events in collaboration with HR.
  • Channel Management – Manage content for communication channels, such as the intranet and the newsletter. Ensure that the channels are regularly updated with relevant and timely information.
  • Technology and Tools – Stay updated with communication tools and technologies that will enhance internal communication platforms, collaboration software, project management tools, and analytics platforms.

Desired Experience & Qualification:

  • Diploma in Communications, Communication Science, Brand Communication or equivalent (NQF L6)
  • a degree (NQF L7) would be an added advantage
  • 2 – 3 year’s work experience in communications
  • 2+ years of strong knowledge internal communications.

  • Understanding of Internal Communication tools (tools include email platforms, collaboration tools and content management systems (CMS).
