Main purpose: To lead and oversee the provision of cyber forensics and forensic data expertise during national, provincial and strategic investigations into maladministration and corruption within State institutions, in support of the Multi-disciplinary approach (“MDA”) to all projects / assignments across the organisation.

Minimum qualification and experience: B Honours Degree in Cyber Forensics or Data Forensics or relevant (NQF 8). Formal Project Management qualification or an approved Cyber or Data Forensics Certification would be advantageous. Membership with a professional body would be advantageous.  Six to eight years in Cyber or Forensic Data Investigations, of which four years should be at a management level.

Key performance areas (Include but not limited to): Management of Delivery of Cyber Forensics and Forensics Data Involvement on National, Provincial and Strategic of Projects Requiring Cyber Forensics and Forensics Data Expertise. Development of the Cyber Forensics and Forensics Data Area. Staff Management. Stakeholder Management and Business Development.

Technical skills: Leadership. Problem solving. Analytical. Interpersonal. Communication. Coaching and mentoring. Risk management. Planning and organising. People management. Time management.

Required knowledge and Behavioural (include but not limited to): Thorough knowledge of the laws, rules, and legal precedents pertaining to evidence, searching of premises, and the technical aspects of providing digital forensic services. In-depth Knowledge of the Electronic Communication and Transactions Act (ECT Act) and Regulation of Interception of Communications Act (RICA Act) legislation. In-depth knowledge network systems, computer hardware and windows operating systems. Sound knowledge of relevant international legal conventions and instruments. Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite. Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems, and thorough knowledge of Mac operating systems, as well as mobile devices and cellular communications. Expert understanding of digital and data forensic processes, including acquisition, examination, analysis, and reporting. Knowledge of project management principles, methodology and practice. Sound knowledge of forensic quality assurance and quality management systems. Knowledge of financial principles. Team player. Attention to detail. Accuracy. Deadline driven. Collaborative. Customer focused. Work under pressure. Results oriented. Strategic thinker.
