The South African Weather Service (SAWS) is therefore seeking to appoint an efficient and enthusiastic
person to undertake the role of:
Office Administrator: OR Tambo International Airport

Job Summary:
- To provide efficient Aviation related administration services to the Aviation team and their
stakeholders, assist with ensuring the department’s compliance with the relevant
legislation, SAWS policies and procedures, as well as the requisite Total Quality
Management processes. - Act as the first point of call when there are incoming calls from the department’s external
stakeholders - Performing day-to-day organizational support activities which are aimed at ensuring that
the departmentunit is administratively functional and that strategic goals such as skills
development and communication are met.
Key Performance Areas:
- Administrative, operational, and any other functions as may be directed
- Management of all diaries, including the scheduling of meetings electronically in
- available time slots
- Arrangement of meetings and logistical requirements thereof
- Ensure that meeting minutes are accurately captured, distributed and resolutions are
- implemented
- Assisting with budgeting and management of the office’s finance throughout the financial
period - Procurement of goods and services for the department
- Coordination of income and expenses for the Aviation Weather Centre
- Asset control and inventory.
- Establish and maintain an effective filing system for the department
- Travel & accommodation arrangements for the team
- Assist the team with compliance to performance management cycles
- Play an active role in the Implementation and maintenance of the Quality Management
System for the Aviation department - Liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
Minimum Requirements and Attributes:
- A National Diploma in Administration or equivalent qualifications in a related field
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure with strict deadlines.
- Good interpersonal skills and stakeholder management
