Credit Bureau Project Consultant

The National Credit Regulator (NCR) was established as the regulator under the National Credit Act 34 of 2005 (the Act) and is responsible for the regulation of the South African credit industry. It is tasked with carrying out education, research, policy development, registration of industry participants, i.e. credit providers, credit bureaux, alternative dispute resolution agents, payment distribution agents and debt counsellors, investigation of complaints, and enforcement of the Act.
The Act requires the NCR to promote the development of an accessible credit market, particularly to address the needs of historically disadvantaged persons, low income persons, and remote, isolated or low density communities. The NCR invites applications from suitable candidates for the following position:

Credit Bureau Project Consultant
24-months contract

Requirements:

• The successful candidate must hold a national diploma, degree or have relevant experience in a credit
  information environment of not less than five (5) years.
• Knowledge of the credit information and financial services sector
• Project management experience

Duties:

• Provide leadership, coordination and management of the credit information projects for the NCR.
• Manage and provide oversight over the design of projects scopes and deliverables.
• Participate in all existing projects, and provide management, leadership and oversight.
• Manage the NCR staff involvement and participation in projects.
• Stakeholder management and relationships
• Participate in relevant committees, structures, and podiums.
• Manage the implementation of change management during introduction of project systems
• Manage budget and staff allocated for projects.

Knowledge:

• Knowledge of credit information environment, frameworks, architecture and strategy
• Knowledge of legislation impacting on, and influencing credit information
• Project management
• Public Finance Management Act and related procurement processes.
