This role involves supporting the efforts of data analysts, data scientists, and other stakeholders involved in data-related initiatives. The Data Analytics Coordinator plays a more hands-on role in ensuring the smooth execution of analytics projects.

Job description

CORE FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:

  • Project Coordination: Managing and coordinating data analytics projects from initiation to completion. This includes defining project scope, objectives, timelines, and resource requirements.
  • Data Collection and Preparation: Collaborating with data engineers, data scientists, and other team members to collect, clean, and prepare data for analysis. Ensuring that data quality and integrity are maintained throughout the process.
  • Data Access and Security: Facilitating access to data sources while adhering to data security and privacy protocols. Ensuring that data access permissions are appropriately managed and data usage complies with relevant regulations.
  • Tools and Resources: Providing support in terms of tools, software, and resources needed for data analysis. Coordinating the availability of necessary software licenses, hardware, and infrastructure.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Facilitating communication and collaboration among cross-functional teams, including data analysts, data scientists, business stakeholders, and IT teams. Ensuring that everyone is aligned and informed about project progress and requirements.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintaining documentation related to data analytics projects, including project plans, data dictionaries, and process documentation. Assisting in the creation of reports and dashboards that communicate analytical insights to stakeholders.
  • Training and Development: Organizing training sessions and workshops for team members to enhance their data analytics skills and knowledge. Supporting their professional development in the field of data analytics.
  • Issue Resolution: Identifying and addressing challenges and roadblocks that may arise during the course of analytics projects. Escalating issues to appropriate parties when needed.
  • Quality Assurance: Assisting in quality assurance and testing activities to ensure that analytics solutions meet specified requirements and produce accurate results.
  • Continuous Improvement: Collaborating with the Data Analytics Manager and other stakeholders to identify areas for process improvement and optimization. Implementing best practices and refining processes to enhance the efficiency of analytics initiatives.
  • Vendor Management: If relevant, coordinating with external vendors or service providers to ensure the successful implementation of analytics solutions or tools.
Minimum requirements

QUALIFICATION

  • A qualification or recognized certificate in data science or similar field of study
  • Certification in project management is advantageous

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role
  • Education in Higher Education is advantageous
