Faculty of Health Sciences
The Faculty of Health Sciences invites applications for this full-time post, for appointment as soon as possible. The main purpose of this job is to provide a full spectrum of financial services to the Centralised Financial Management & Administration unit of the Faculty Finance Hub within the Faculty of Health Sciences.
Requirements for the job:
- an appropriate Accounting or Financial Qualification from a Tertiary institution is required and proven
experience within a financial environment. If qualified by experience, at least 5 years’ experience at the
advertised level, with the same/similar key performance area and at least a minimum experience of 3
years within a financial environment. - at least three years’ financial management/accounting experience including the preparation of budgets,
management accounts and income and expenditure statements; - computer literacy (MS Word, MS Excel and SAP R/3 or a similar large accounting system would be
advantageous); - ability to work methodically, efficiently, accurately & meticulously within a deadline driven environment.
- good communicative and interpersonal skills &

The following will be advantageous:
- Articles will be advantageous;
Responsibilities:
- day-to-day financial administration and management of grants;
- provision of assistance to researchers in preparing budget applications, in line with the Faculty Cost
Recovery mandate; - preparation of financial reports in line with funder requirements;
- communication of financial and purchasing policies and procedures to unit staff;
- preparation of internal reports for financial analysis;
- co-ordinate and manage weekly petty cash process;
- any other tasks and duties that may be appropriate to this position.
The annual cost of employment, including benefits (where applicable), is between R393,399 and R462,822.
