Profile
- To maintain the Operator’s assets and ensure that safety, quality and performance targets are achieved.
- To execute maintenance policy, standards and procedures and ensure reliable and safe equipment.

Principal Accountabilities
- Ensure compliance with Occupational Health Safety Acts & its Regulations, all applicable legal requirements and Company policies.
- Maintain operator’s Civil Infrastructure, Landscaping and Dolomite on a planned and emergency basis to a standard of excellent quality and service.
- Manage the Maintenance of Civil Infrastructure, Landscaping and Dolomite assets and ensure safety, quality and performance targets are achieved to position the Company as a world-class railway system operator.
- Manage assets administration through Maximo, QlikView and other applicable maintenance management systems.
- Provide support to maintenance team for the management of preventative and corrective maintenance.
- Establish and adopt standards and practices of the highest level throughout the Maintenance Division.
- Manage asset portfolio within the financial controls and limits set by Executive Maintenance.
- To ensure availability and condition to a standard that will ensure maximum operational efficiency and maintain standard of product and quality and service.
- Follow up on technical objectives related to the quality and the efficiency of the maintenance activities.
- Ensure Civil Infrastructure, Landscaping and Dolomite maintenance plans are executed, and equipment is ready for use as required.
- Conduct investigation into safety critical and failure and ensure implementation of recommendations.
- Monitor the condition of the assets and propose remedial actions.
- Conduct investigations into failures and ensure implementation of recommendations.
- Comply with Company policies and support team spirit.
- Fulfil all duties as specified in legal appointment.
- Specific Responsibilities
- Ensure subcontractors compliance to Contract and its appendices.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits on contractors, report deviations and ensure corrective measures are implemented.
- Inspect Civil Infrastructure, Landscaping and Dolomite condition to identify issues or non-conformity for resolution.
- Ensure all agreed routine plant checks and testing are carried out to the specified frequencies and in accordance with procedures.
- Enforce compliance to applicable codes and standards for civil and landscaping works.
- Participate in implementing the Civil Infrastructure, Landscaping and Dolomite Maintenance Plan and ensure it is up to date in Maximo.
- Participate in compilation, completion and closure of remedial works on NCR, LDN and WDN in civil and building defect notifications.
- Participate in meetings, compiling of minutes and keep register of business correspondence.
- Take proactive role in site projects including engineering change, renewal etc.
- Evaluate third party designs, work procedures, quality control, project acceptance and maintenance document review.
- Render technical advice and feedback on any defects or upgrades.
- Ensure successful handover of new maintainable addition to the system.
- Manage and update civil maintenance drawings, specifications and procedures.
- Adhere to continuous improvement principles.
- Source, procurement and supervision of competent contractors.
- Abide with general housekeeping rules.
- Undertake any other duties as assigned.
- Manage maintenance sub-contractor with respect to safety, quality and technical issue.
- Participate in the implementation of the maintenance plan.
- Daily follow up on Civil Infrastructure and Landscaping WO’s.
- Adhere to continuous improvement principle.
- Maintain the Civil Infrastructure as per OMM.
- Plan and ensure that works are performed within the specified time.
- Maintain buried services as per as-built drawings (including storm water and irrigation)
- Ensure minimum levels of equipment down time, including timely and effective response break downs.
- Conduct routine maintenance, spot checks of contractors, Maintenance inspections and practice preventative maintenance.
- Abide to general housekeeping rules.
- Ensure annual safety audits are conducted and ensure contractors comply with all applicable regulations.
- Analyse and rectify equipment defects in a timely manner to avoid downtimes.
- Monitor compliance to SLA and issue penalty and take corrective actions on any no-compliance by sub-contractor.
- Dealing with erosion around buildings.
- Update specifications and procedures as and when required.
- Night Shift Inspections: Minimum of 1 week per month tunnel inspection (15km tunnel)
- Undertake any other duties as assigned.
- Conduct routine maintenance, spot checks of contractors, Maintenance inspections and practice preventative maintenance.
- Abide to general housekeeping rules
- Ensure annual safety audits are conducted and ensure contractors comply with all applicable regulations.
