Job Purpose | To supervise and co-ordinate the provision of administrative support to the decision making process of the council and its committees. |
Key Responsibility Areas | Supervises and co-ordinates teams of committee officers in all aspects of committee work.? Represents the City Manager at meetings by providing advice and guidance to ensure that meetings run in terms of the relevant legislation and council procedures. Ensures that council and committee decisions are communicated within the prescribed time frame to all relevant players, including Ward Committees Resolutions. Ensures the maintenance of records such as register of councillors meeting attendance and minute books. Compiles reports to committees/Council and undertakes research for this purpose where necessary. |

Essential Requirements | Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Public Management or Public Administration or related field. 4 years experience in Portfolio and Board Committees of which 1 year must be at a supervisory level. Computer Literacy. |
Preferred Requirements | Degree (NQF Level 7) in Public Management or Public Administration or related field. 5 years experience in Portfolio and Board Committees of which 2 years must be at a supervisory level. |
