Overview of role Programme and Vacancy overview:
AQUITY Innovations NPC has been appointed by Boston College to serve as the implementing partner for an US National institute of Health (NIH) research study on System Analysis Improvement Approach Tuberculosis (SAIA-TB) in South Africa. The project activities will be implemented in Eastern Cape (Sarah Baartman district) in 16 clinics with satellite office in Gqeberha.
Purpose:
To support SAIA-TB study through facility level data entry, 2024-2025 baseline data collection 2024-2025, data-related admin/quality work, capture patient’s files/registers, generate reports, and compile weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual TB care cascade statistics.
Responsibilities
Ensure accurate daily electronic data capturing in the REDCap study databases and consolidation for designated TB service points (i.e. TB cascade analysis tool).
Ensure that all data captured and entered has been verified for quality (correctness, completeness, consistency, timeliness and accuracy on patient register/file, Tier.net, DHIS, EDR-web and REDCap analytics.
Maintain and update all relevant TB and HIV registers in consultation with clinic staff during SAIA-TB intervention period.
Ensure that all data are captured, managed and reported according to the DOH and SAIA-TB standard operating procedures.
Participate in data quality management by performing the required data verifications, data quality assurance and control measures.
Compile routine statistical report daily, weekly, monthly reporting templates accurately and timely submission thereof.
Perform all necessary administrative duties related to data capturing for assigned clinics.
Liaise with facility staff regarding recording and reporting of TB data.
Attend relevant trainings and meetings as required.
Qualification
Candidates must be in possession of a Matric. A post matric qualification will be an added advantage.
Experience
Basic computer skills (MS Word, MS Power Point and MS Excel).
A minimum of two years working experience in heath data collecting, capturing, management and/or analysis.
Have basic knowledge of TB, and HIV/AIDS.
At least 2 years’ experience working with DOH data and/or M&E systems (Tier.net, EDR web, DHIS) and other data systems (REDCap etc.) will be an added advantage.
Personal characteristics
Strong written and verbal English communication.
Good interpersonal skills, to take initiative, and be a team player.
Able to travel between facilities
Must be a South African national with fluency in at least one local indigenous South African language (preference for isiXhosa and/or Afrikaans given local dialects in clinic operating areas).
