Job PurposeBidvest International Logistics is recruiting an Entries Clerk within the International Logistics Product.It is preferred for this position to be based at the East London branch but Port Elizabeth based candidates will be screened. The incumbent will tariff various commodities correctly, frame all types of Bill of Entries, including Ex Bonds and assist with and conduct ad-hoc Customs stops when required. 
Qualifications & ExperienceMatric / Grade 12 essentialCompletion of Customs Affairs courses or equivalentForwarding Course or equivalent would be an advantageComputer literacy, i.e: Microsoft office suite and operating systems that generate Customs Bills of Entry5-10 years experience in entry framing with experience in framing entries for General Cargo and Automotive Clients
Key ResponsibilitiesFrame all types of bill of EntriesTariff commodites correctly as per HTSFrame VOC’s, whilst unvestigating reasons for same in line with continual improvementAssist clients with Customs technical issues/queriesManage EDI messaging to and from customsQuality Check all EntriesCompile monthly Customs Risk Report i.e: Refunds, Acquittals, VOCs, Penalties, etcRecording errors made on Clearances on operating systemAssist with Clients Customs queriesProvide regular feedback on quality assurance 
Skills & CompetenciesKnowledgeGood working knowledge of Tariffing, Valuation, Rules of Origin, Trade Agreements, Incoterms 2020, Customs and Excise Act, and Customs Excise proceduresThorough understanding of Incoterms 2020Previous knowledge of the APDP process would be advantageousGood knowledge of all 5th Schedule drawbacks related to Automotive requirementsEnsure no penalties received from SARS Customs due to errors or non complianceQuality control of all types of customs declarations (prime and adjustments documents)Ensure invoices and credit notes are processed correctly and timeouslySkillsWell developed numerical skillsCommunicate across all levels of businessBe able to work under pressureAbility to solve problemsAbility to interface with Clients as well as Customs officials
