CORRECTIONAL SERVICES LEARNERSHIP 2023
Correctional Services Learnership 2023: The Department Of Correctional Services invites interested applicants to apply for a learnership opportunity where they will acquire skills, knowledge and workplace experience in the field of Corrections.
This opportunity is for both people with Grade 12 and graduates who are in possession of qualifications in various fields.
Successful applicants will be trained in the
areas of rehabilitation of offenders through correction and human development in a secure, safe and humane detention or under the community based correctional supervision.
They will be receiving a monthly stipend and at the end of the programme, they will get a FET Certificate in Correctional Services (NQF Level 4).
Learnership Purpose:
The aim of this learnership programme is to
contribute towards addressing the skills shortage in the Correctional Services Department and in South Africa.
Programme Title: FET Certificate in Corrections Services Learnership in DSC (NQF 4)
Duration: 12 months
Location: All Provinces
Stipend: R3738.25 per month
Closing Date: January 31st, 2023
Correctional Services Learnership 2023 Minimum Requirements:
- Must be between the ages of 18-35.
- Be law-abiding South African citizens with a clear criminal record and no pending cases.
- Physically fit and mentally resilient.
- Show character
- Applicants must be in poasession of a Grade 12 certificate, or a National Certificate in Vocational Studies (NQF 4), or a Further Education And Training Certificate (NQF 4).
- Candidates who possess a diploma, trade certificate, certificate or degree in Corrections, Penology, Criminology, Agriculture (including Agriculture Economists, Agriculture Engineering, Agriculture Management, Animal Health Technicians, Animal Production or artisan (all fields) may also apply.
- All aplicants with qualifications in Construction Health and Safety, Technicians, Food Processing (General Abattoir Processes, Meat Inspector/ Examination, Processed and Preserved Meat, Fish, Fruit and Vegetables), Graphic Designers, Two-way Radio Communication Technicians or Textile Designing are encouraged to apply.

Please Note:
All applicants must be prepared to undergo verfication checks related to their background, citizenship, qualifications and criminal record.
During practical learning which will be conducted in Correctional Centres and Community Corrections Offices, learners will be responsible for their own meals, transport and accomodation.
