Description
Purpose of Role
The role will be responsible to assist in providing a comprehensive communication service, aligned with organisational strategies and objectives and to assist in the facilitation of a two-way communication between the company and its Internal Stakeholders.
The Communications Intern is responsible for supporting the communication team with various tasks such as creating content for various communication channels and contribute to developing communication strategies.
Role Context
- Assist the communication team to execute the internal communication strategy.
- Assist in ensuring that that internal organisational initiatives and projects are successfully communicated to employees and messages are consistent across all levels in the organisation.
- Support with content development for communication materials.
- Contribute towards day-to-day internal communication activities including communication to specific projects and the tracking of the projects.
- Contribute towards the adherence of communication of systems, policies, and procedures.
- Assist in the planning and execution of internal events, campaigns, and competitions.
- Provide administrative support to programs and internal teams.
- Prepare minutes, presentations, and reports.
- Maintain excellent relationships with all internal stakeholders.
- Contribute towards the management of the corporate image, including visitor’s programme, branding material and merchandising needs, displays and exhibitions.
- Contribute toward the development and implementation of social media strategies.
- Promote regular and ongoing opportunities for staff to give feedback on the effectiveness of teams and programs.
- Collecting data and maintaining database.
- Assisting team members with all administrative duties.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Grade 12/equivalent qualification.
- Certificate in Communications, Public Relations, Media Studies or studying towards related field.
Job specific experience:
- Proficient in MS Office – Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Inherent requirements
Must be medically fit.
