Role summary
The driver is responsible for the Akeso Clinic’s patient transport, deliveries, collections, vehicle maintenance and general administrative duties. The driver will be required to provide an efficient and professional service at all times.
Key work output and accountabilities
 Collect Akeso Clinics’ post.
ï‚· Deliver documents as per envelope instructions.
ï‚· Take or collect visitors or patients from the airport/hotels/courses when requested.
 Ensure Akeso Clinic’s vehicles are taken to and collected from the relevant dealership for services as and
when required.
ï‚· Wash the pool vehicle and ensure that the vehicle is clean at any given time.
ï‚· Complete required documentation of deliveries etc. (obtain signatures for receipt of deliveries).
ï‚· Complete fuel log book for business kilometres travelled as and when in use.
ï‚· Complete all reasonable duties requested of you by the Hospital Manager.
ï‚· Complete all filing as and when required.
ï‚· Fax all correspondence to relevant parties as and when requested.
ï‚· Send faxes/emails within one hour of the request.
ï‚· Assist with all admission enquiries, internal and external
ï‚· Assist with any other administrative duties upon request, including:
ï‚· Collection or delivery of items required for repairs and maintenance of Akeso facilities.
ï‚· Collection and delivery of medication for the clinic
ï‚· Marketing initiatives as and when requested to do so by the Hospital Manager.
ï‚· Required to work overtime upon request and business operations demands.
Education
ï‚· Grade 12 or equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification
 A valid Code 8 Driver’s License
ï‚· Professional driving permit (PrDP)
ï‚· BLA or BLS Qualification
ï‚· BAA (Basic Ambulance Assistance) Qualification
Work experience
 Minimum one year’s experience as a driver.
Knowledge
ï‚· Good general understanding of the province/geographic routes.
ï‚· Good communication skills (written and verbal).
